Turtle Tally Project Lead: Suzie Simpson

Suzie has worked in the animal sector for over 20 years in various capacities. She became a passionate herpetologist having carried out research in Mauritius with Durrell Wildlife and spending time in Canada as a PhD research assistant looking at species at risk freshwater turtles. Working as an Animal Management lecturer for the multiple years sharing her experiences and knowledge with students at Hadlow College in Kent. Suzie is studying her Masters of Research in Biodiversity Conservation at the University of Kent currently which involves the Turtle Tally research and further welfare assessments on both captive and released terrapins. She hopes to continue her research through PhD investigating further topics including impacts of released turtles in the UK and their health and welfare.
